Post a Quote a Day Challenge Day #3

Ok, this is the final day of the Quote-a-Day challenge!

I have been thinking long and hard about which quote I should end this trio off on. I spent a lot of time on google before the answer finally hit me. Really, it should have been incredibly obvious! I should have known that when it comes to wisdom, nobody does it quite like Uncle Ben

With great power comes great responsibility

Ok, ok. Technically Uncle Ben didn’t say this originally! It was actually first used as part of the narration in one of the panels of Amazing Fantasy #15 (Spiderman’s first ever appearance in a comic, FYI). However, this quote is widely attributed to him and has been said by him in various movie adaptations (or very roughly alluded to), so I’m gonna give him some credit here! This quote is iconic as it is true. When you are in a position of power, you suddenly become responsible for a lot more than just yourself. You need to keep other people in mind and know that everything that you do affects them in some way. However, this quote doesn’t just apply to world leaders and masked vigilantes! When a YouTuber has an expanding audience of admiring fans, it is their responsibility not to exploit them. When a person sees a man with his leg stuck between a train and a platform, it’s their responsibility to tell a transport officer and get them help! Simply put: If you have the means to do good, then it is your responsibility to use your power for the right reasons. This quote is basically a reminder to do the right thing and not let any power go to your head. A little Parker logic never goes astray!

So anyways, that’s it for the Post a Quote a Day challenge!

Today I’d like to nominate Jodi from A Brash Attitude 🙂

And before I go, just a little housekeeping! I’m going away next week so I won’t be posting anything new for the time being (sad face). However, as soon as I get back we will return to our regular scheduling! I’m going to miss posting so much, but I promise you guys that I will come back with plenty of awesome ideas! Just you wait and see 😛

I hope you guys have an amazing week

Lots of love

-Daisy 🙂

P.S. I couldn’t end this post without including the infamous Tobey Maguire crying face! Oh Tobey, you will always be Spiderman in our hearts 😛

Everything I Bought at Supanova

Wow. Just wow.

I am actually still in shock.

It really is a testament to how amazing  Nathan Fillion’s fans are when after I write one post about him my blog traffic reaches an all-time high!

I would just like to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everybody who shared, retweeted and liked my post! It’s truly insane to think that so many people have read what I had to say and seen all of my spelling errors! 😛 You are all amazing and completely made my week! I don’t think I can thank you enough XD

Alrighty, on to today’s blog post!

Now, second to the amazing panels of course, one of my favourite things about conventions is the amazing merchandise! Conventions really are the best place to get some of the most amazing, one-of-a-kind geeky goodies. I actually got so amped up about what I bought at Oz Comic Con earlier this year that I ended up writing my first proper blog post about it! So, keeping in line with my tradition of spending disproportionate amounts of money and writing about it, I have decided to share with you guys everything that I bought at Supanova!

On Nathan Fillion and Standing

Hello everyone!

Now, I don’t think I’m alone in saying that some of the most spectacular things that I’ve done in my life thus far have been experienced as a part of a group. There is no denying that when people of all different walks of life come together to achieve something, it is simply awesome. It’s like the rush you feel in the mosh pit of a concert, the audience’s chants wrapping around your ears and embracing you as part of something bigger. You can sense it when you turn on the news and watch the Gay Pride parades, feeling almost like you’re a part of that moment as your screen overflows with waves of colour, light and joy. Even something as simple as a Mexican wave can make me feel so immeasurably happy; all of these people, many whom don’t know each other, have decided in one moment to come together as one. Being included in something like that is a truly rousing feeling; it reminds you that although it may sometimes feel otherwise, you are not alone.

Supanova Excitement

Hello everyone!

Just a heads up: this is going to be a shorter post than usual today. Believe it or not, I’ve actually been super busy! But, as a result of this increase in productivity I have noticed that my blog posts are becoming less well-prepared! (Which is ironic, because one of the main reasons why I wanted to blog was to stay productive. Oh well :P)

OK, I REALLY don’t know what I’m doing right now!

OOTD: Newmar and Nighties

Hello everyone!

Now, I will admit straight out of the gate that I am not a major Batman fan. I don’t read Batman comics, haven’t seen any of the movies (except for ‘Batman and Robin’, but I’m not sure if that example’s entirely COOL *insert Arnold Schwarznegger laughing*) and I’ve only seen a fraction of the 1966 TV series.

However, all of this being said, I simply adore Catwoman.

Silk #3 Review

“As I’m writing this I am actually still buzzing with excitement. I’ve just finished the third Silk, and I must say that it is by far the series’ most awesome issue yet! (To be fair, there are only three issues. But still!) There are just too many great moments, almost too many for this one review! However, I will do my best to contain my excitement and put all of my thoughts into this blog post. But yes, in one word this comic is AWESOME!”

Fight Like A Girl

I am incredibly new to the world of comics. So new, as a matter of fact, that I’m only reading comics from one series, and that series is The Amazing Spider-Man. I just love having a story told to me visually. Seeing the artwork and reading the dialogue makes everything feel so much more engaging to me, plus the story lines are almost always crazily awesome. I’ve always loved graphic novels, so it would make sense that I would love comics. Continue reading
