Nice to Meet You, Where You Been?

(Gosh, it feels so strange to be sitting back at my computer typing away. Strange, but exciting!)

Hello everyone!

How have you all been? How’s blogging been treating you? It feels like I’ve been away forever, and I’m incredibly sorry! Long story short, I got really busy at the end of my uni break. Like, SUPER busy! Almost every day I was doing something, which was fantastic for my holiday goals list, but not for my blog! However, now that my break is over and I am once again packing my backpack every morning for university, I have had some time to assess what it is that I really want to be doing in regards to my little corner of the internet. After some consideration, I have decided that I want to cut back my posting to once a week on a Friday. Although it is less than what I’ve done previously, I want to make sure that everything I’m putting on this blog is something that I am proud of, and I don’t want to end up rushing myself! Good things take time, right? 😛

On top of this, I thought I should tell you guys some news. You remember how I started this blog as a university assignment? Well, I finally got my results back and I have to say I’m super happy! My tutor really loved my posts about feminism and was super impressed with all of your amazing comments, so I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much once again for all of your amazing support! As promised, I will now return the posts back to their original word counts. As for whether or not I’m going to continue blogging now the assessment’s over, I’d have to say that at this point in time I have absolutely no intention of stopping! I have had so much fun over the months that I’ve run this and met some amazing people; why would I want to stop now?! 😛

Finally, you all know how much I love dancing, so I thought that since this is my first blog post in a few weeks it should definitely go up with a bang! This is probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard for dancing, and I guarantee you won’t be able to get it out of your head once you’ve heard it! Plus, the music video makes me giggle 🙂

So yeah, that’s all from me! I hope you all are having an amazing day, and I’ll see you all again on Friday!

Lots of love

-Daisy 🙂

My Favourite ‘Girl Power’ Anthems

Hello Hello Hello!

Now, you all know that I love dancing (even though I am absolutely terrible at it!). Dancing just has this amazing power to make you feel great, no matter what kind of mood you’re in. However, what I’ve found is that when I’m dancing and singing along to a song that has a positive, empowering message, my mood is uplifted almost instantly! I believe if you give a woman the right playlist, she can feel ready to take on the world. So, I thought it would be only fitting for today’s post to be about some of my favourite girl-power anthems! All of these songs reinforce positive ideas about what it means to be a female, touching on themes like empowerment, self-confidence and friendship. Hopefully you’ll love them as much as I do!

Reasons to be Happy!

Hello everyone!

How’s it going? Did you have a good mother’s day? I surely did 🙂

Now, when I sat down at my computer today to write a new blog post an overwhelming sense of confusion came over me. Weirdly enough, for the first time in my approximate one month of blogging I found myself wondering what I should write about! I never thought that it would happen to me when I first started out; I was brimming with so many ideas! But I guess it happens to all of us at some point, so I’m not going to get too down about it. I just need to keep writing down ideas and soldier on with it!

So anyways, in my uninspired state of disarray, I decided that I would browse some of the blogs that I’m following to see what everybody’s up to, and that’s when I stumbled across this post. Continue reading

Dance It Out

I’m a strong believer in the power of music. Whenever I hear a song that I love, my mood gets lifted instantaneously. So, for the past few years I’ve had sort of a morning ritual. Whenever I get ready I put on the loudest, happiest music I can find, and I dance. Not only does it energise me, but it also puts me in a fantastic mood for the rest of the day! I highly recommend you try it. Next time you’re getting ready to go out somewhere, put on some funky music and bust some moves, no matter how dorky they may be. You might feel a little silly at first, but once you embrace it you’ll feel 10,000 times more amazing, I promise! If you’re stuck for some feel-good tunes, here are a few of my favourites:
