Current Obsession: TonyMoly

Hey everyone!

Really, I don’t consider myself to be particularly fussy when it comes to beauty products. All I require is that it’s cute, smells/tastes good and is relatively cheap. Usually when I buy something it covers at least one of the three criteria, but when I find something that checks ALL the boxes? Well, that’s when I start to dance like Leslie Knope.

Pretty in Pastel

from http://fuckyeahcoloredhair.tumblr.com/

Hey everyone!

Gosh, it feels like I’ve been gone forever! After re-emerging from my mostly internet-free holiday I could barely recognise the online world; Ariana Grande is now a notorious America-hater and donut-licker, everyone knows what Justin Bieber’s butt looks like, McDonalds has released minion figurines that swear at you depending on what you’re listening for and a freaking shoe with a pair of nail polishes is coming pretty darn close to breaking the internet! The internet is a crazy place, and it’s good to be back; I’ve missed you guys so much.

Anyways, moving right along!

If there’s one thing that has also changed over my one-week break, it’s my hair. Yes, it brings me great excitement to tell you at this very moment I am the proud owner of some pastel-streaked locks! So how did I do it? Through a process of trial and error! However, since I have personally experienced all of these trials and errors, I can impart my newly-found wisdom onto you so you don’t have any hair-dye disasters.

Post a Quote a Day Challenge Day #2

Take your make-up off/ Let your hair down/ Take a breath/ Look into the mirror, at yourself/ Don’t you like you?/ ‘Cause I like you

Do you guys remember when Colbie Calliat’s music video for ‘Try’ came out? I do, very clearly. I remember reading an article on Buzzfeed about it and a gif set from the video almost bringing me to tears! When I saw the full music video, though, I really started crying. At the time I didn’t know why I had gotten so emotional, but now when I look back on it I think that it was something to do with the fact that subconsciously I could strongly relate to the message of the song. I, like most girls, have felt this pressure growing up to adhere to society’s idea of ‘beautiful’. When I noticed that the boys in my year weren’t looking at me and the only person who called me pretty was my mum, I began to think that there was something wrong with me. I didn’t really have a problem with how I looked, but because other people didn’t approve of me I felt like I wasn’t good enough.

Of course, this idea I had was absolutely ridiculous! The only person I should have ever aimed to impress was myself, and that is why I love this quote so much. In this video Colbie isn’t saying that there’s anything wrong with wearing makeup, but rather you shouldn’t be wearing it as a mask to impress others. At the end of the day, although wearing makeup is really nice, you should be able to take a makeup wipe to your face, look in the mirror and think ‘hey, I am beautiful!’. It took me a while to get to that point, and it was difficult. Even now I have my ‘off’ days, but this song serves as a reminder to me that, even when I don’t feel like it’s possible, I am beautiful and I don’t need to try to be anything to impress anyone. Needless to say, I think that this video should be required viewing for all women!

Here it is. Get the tissues ready.

Ok, that’s all from me!

Today I nominate Dark Charm to take on this challenge 😛

I hope you guys are having an amazing day

Lots of love

-Daisy 🙂

Everything I Bought at Supanova

IMG_5858

Wow. Just wow.

I am actually still in shock.

It really is a testament to how amazing  Nathan Fillion’s fans are when after I write one post about him my blog traffic reaches an all-time high!

I would just like to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everybody who shared, retweeted and liked my post! It’s truly insane to think that so many people have read what I had to say and seen all of my spelling errors! 😛 You are all amazing and completely made my week! I don’t think I can thank you enough XD

Alrighty, on to today’s blog post!

Now, second to the amazing panels of course, one of my favourite things about conventions is the amazing merchandise! Conventions really are the best place to get some of the most amazing, one-of-a-kind geeky goodies. I actually got so amped up about what I bought at Oz Comic Con earlier this year that I ended up writing my first proper blog post about it! So, keeping in line with my tradition of spending disproportionate amounts of money and writing about it, I have decided to share with you guys everything that I bought at Supanova!

Crayon Lipsticks That Actually Work?!

IMG_5741

Hello everyone!

OK, I’m guessing that quite a number of you have tried the crayon lipstick. If your experience was anything like mine it probably went something like this: you were browsing through Pinterest one day when you spotted a pin that almost looked too good to be true. Lipsticks in any shade you like, all with the help of crayons and a little bit of coconut oil! What could possibly go wrong? Well, a dozen broken crayons and splashes of coconut oil later, I realised the answer to that question! For me, the result of my hard work was nothing short of disappointing; a goopy, slippery pseudo-lipgloss that smudged off almost as soon as I put it on! It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting, especially considering how good it looked in the photos.

However, I am incredibly pleased to tell you there is still hope!
