Everything I Bought at Supanova

IMG_5858

Wow. Just wow.

I am actually still in shock.

It really is a testament to how amazing  Nathan Fillion’s fans are when after I write one post about him my blog traffic reaches an all-time high!

I would just like to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everybody who shared, retweeted and liked my post! It’s truly insane to think that so many people have read what I had to say and seen all of my spelling errors! 😛 You are all amazing and completely made my week! I don’t think I can thank you enough XD

Alrighty, on to today’s blog post!

Now, second to the amazing panels of course, one of my favourite things about conventions is the amazing merchandise! Conventions really are the best place to get some of the most amazing, one-of-a-kind geeky goodies. I actually got so amped up about what I bought at Oz Comic Con earlier this year that I ended up writing my first proper blog post about it! So, keeping in line with my tradition of spending disproportionate amounts of money and writing about it, I have decided to share with you guys everything that I bought at Supanova!

On Nathan Fillion and Standing

Hello everyone!

Now, I don’t think I’m alone in saying that some of the most spectacular things that I’ve done in my life thus far have been experienced as a part of a group. There is no denying that when people of all different walks of life come together to achieve something, it is simply awesome. It’s like the rush you feel in the mosh pit of a concert, the audience’s chants wrapping around your ears and embracing you as part of something bigger. You can sense it when you turn on the news and watch the Gay Pride parades, feeling almost like you’re a part of that moment as your screen overflows with waves of colour, light and joy. Even something as simple as a Mexican wave can make me feel so immeasurably happy; all of these people, many whom don’t know each other, have decided in one moment to come together as one. Being included in something like that is a truly rousing feeling; it reminds you that although it may sometimes feel otherwise, you are not alone.

Supanova Excitement

Hello everyone!

Just a heads up: this is going to be a shorter post than usual today. Believe it or not, I’ve actually been super busy! But, as a result of this increase in productivity I have noticed that my blog posts are becoming less well-prepared! (Which is ironic, because one of the main reasons why I wanted to blog was to stay productive. Oh well :P)

OK, I REALLY don’t know what I’m doing right now!

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award Volume Two!

Hello everyone!

I always feel so privileged whenever I am nominated for an award, and today was absolutely no exception! I have decided now, since I have completed all of the major blogging awards, that I will continue to do any of the awards that I am nominated for as long as they are the ones with the different questions (as lovely as the Versatile and Creative blogger awards are, there are only so many facts about me that I can think of off the top of my head!). So it’s with this in mind that I present to you my answers to the questions from the lovely Chanelle Hayley. If you haven’t already, go and follow her blog ASAP! She does really great beauty reviews and hauls 🙂 Thank you once again for the nomination! XD

Allergic to the ‘E’ Challenge

I have seen this terrifying challenge floating around the blogosphere for a couple of days now. I’ve been praying that it doesn’t make its way around to me, however when I was doing my usual rounds this morning I discovered that the amazingly gorgeous Jodi from A Brash Attitude had nominated me to give it a whirl. What is this evil challenge, you may ask? Well, I’ll tell you that right now, dear reader: this challenge forces you to write one (ONE) paragraph without using the letter ‘E’.

OOTD: Newmar and Nighties

IMG_5780

Hello everyone!

Now, I will admit straight out of the gate that I am not a major Batman fan. I don’t read Batman comics, haven’t seen any of the movies (except for ‘Batman and Robin’, but I’m not sure if that example’s entirely COOL *insert Arnold Schwarznegger laughing*) and I’ve only seen a fraction of the 1966 TV series.

However, all of this being said, I simply adore Catwoman.

The Beauty of Having Goals

Now, I don’t think it would be unreasonable to say that at times I’m not the most driven person in the world. Heck, this statement probably applies to me on most days of the week! What I have found is that whenever I am asked to do something, whether it be big or small, I will almost always put it off. That is, of course, unless there is a deadline; in that case I will put it off until it is absolutely necessary (at times this has been the day that an assignment’s due!). Pair this with feeling uninspired and you have a recipe for disaster. Example: before the beginning of my most recent semester of university I put off buying my books for so long that I created a little bit of a problem for myself. I ended up attending my first tutorials with none of the required texts, forcing me to order them online and wait five weeks before they finally showed up. By that point, there was almost no stopping the snowball-like decline of my study motivation. Without the books I didn’t do the readings, and without the readings I was behind in my classes, and once I was behind I felt so out of it that I couldn’t be bothered fully catching up. It was an absolute catastrophe; a far cry from my hard-studying days of high school!

Therefore, as you can imagine, the mid-year break is something of a nightmare for me. Why? Because I have around two months where absolutely nothing is expected of me and I am free to do whatever I want.

In other words: NO GOALS!
